Hong Kong’s Asia-World Arena is the premier live performance venue in the city, and with a standing and seating capacity of 16,000, it is the largest entertainment venue of its type. Located next to Hong Kong International Airport on Lantau Island, it hosts the vast majority of international music concerts – from Maroon 5 to Kylie Minogue – along with Broadway musicals, K1 martial arts tournaments, dance competitions and numerous trade fairs throughout the year.
Opened in 2005, the facilities at Asia-World Expo Hong Kong are truly world-class, with the latest audio-visual technology, dedicated access for people with disabilities and plenty of refreshments kiosks dotted in the concourse areas. On top of that, more than 10 restaurants are available, from fast-food outlets such as KFC, to Japanese, Chinese and a Starbucks coffee shop. Free Wi-Fi is available for 20 minutes to all guests too.
There are two tiers of seating at Asia-World Arena and, depending on the stage configuration, a large standing area, but thankfully, there are no columns obscuring the view of the stage so you can be assured of a clear view from practically anywhere in the stadium.
To reach the arena from downtown Hong Kong it takes around 30 minutes on the MTR Underground and it is walking distance from Hong Kong International Airport. If you intend to stay close to Asia-World Arena, check out all of the Best Airport Hotels in Hong Kong here.
