Hong Kong International Airport, (Chek Lap Kok on Lantau Island) offers a comprehensive facilities and services. It is the main entry point to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as well as a gateway to China and the rest of Asia.
Getting to and from the airport (HKIA) is easy and inexpensive.
Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong International Airport) is situated on Lantau Island, well away from the heart of the city. Most hotels offer shuttle bus service to/from the airport or to the closest Airport Express station. Hong Kong Island and Kowloon stations provide in-town check-in, free of charge.
You can opt to get to or from the airport by Airport Express train, public bus, or taxi. The Airport Express trains run every 12 minutes, daily from about 06:00 to 01:00. It takes about 25 minutes to/from downtown Hong Kong to/from the airport.

The Airport Express also provides the most convenient access to AsiaWorld-Expo. It takes about one minute from Airport Station to AsiaWorld-Expo Station. From AsiaWorld-Expo Station to Central on Hong Kong Island takes some 30 minutes.

Bus fare is about half as much as Airport Express fare and a cab ride costs about three times as much.

The HKIA also provides ground transport to Mainland China and cities in the Pearl River Delta. Remember, passengers must present a valid travel document for entering mainland China before boarding. High-speed ferries offer efficient service to nearby cities in mainland China. Book a ticket prior to boarding from the ticketing desks located on HKIA Arrivals Level 5, before the immigration counters. Then hop aboard a bus that will take you to the Skypier for your connection to places including Macau and Shenzhen. SkyPier provides fast ferry transfer service for transit passengers.
There are nine Airbus (“A”) routes that can take you to and from the airport with fewer stops than an ordinary bus. Fares range between HK$14 and HK$45. When you exit the Arrivals Hall, turn right and look for the signage.
Taxis are available from the taxi pick-up area in front of the Arrivals Hall. All taxis can go to and from the airport. Fares are metered and there are details inside each cab.
You can take a ferry from Chek Lap Kok's Tung Chung New Development Pier to the town of Tuen Mun in the New Territories. The ferry operates daily, from 06:00 to 23:00.
HKIA offers over 2,400 public parking spaces, including Car Park 1 (short-term), Car Park 4 (short-term and long-term) and SkyCity Car Park (long-term).
Passengers ages 12 and above departing HKIA must pay a HK$120 departure tax (often included in the price of the airline ticket). In addition, passengers departing Hong Kong International Airport must pay a security charge of HK$33.
However, passengers who arrive and depart from Hong Kong on the same day (transit) are exempt from the departure tax.
