Eyebar and Nanhai No.1 Restaurant are two separate, but equally stunning venues occupying the 30th floor of the iSquare building in Tsim Sha Tsiu, Hong Kong.
The most famous of the two, Eyebar, is one of Hong Kong’s most popular rooftop bars, presenting gorgeous views out across to Hong Kong Island over the harbour, as well as delivering a range of sophisticated cocktails. The adjoining Nanhai No.1 Restaurant held the honour of a Michelin star for a few years, and even though it isn’t ranked among the very best restaurants in Hong Kong, it still joins a list of others in Hong Kong to have received the prestigious award.

It’s often said that viewing Hong Kong’s skyline from Hong Kong Island itself is like trying to admire the Eiffel Tower from standing on the top (i.e. you can’t). Thankfully, the vast majority of rooftop bars in Hong Kong are found in Kowloon, meaning that they face Victoria Harbour and the breathtaking city skyline across the water. Eyebar fits into this category, and although not being the tallest of its type in Hong Kong, views from the 30th floor are more or less unobstructed, perfect for that picture-perfect shot on a clear day.
Décor wise, Eyebar Hong Kong has gone for a subtle nautical theme, with a lengthy wooden bar, baby-blue coloured seating and delightful mosaic tiled flooring. Whilst the indoor area is impressive, outdoors really is where you want to be, and there’s an excellent open-air terrace area with comfy seating and viewing platforms. Reserving a table here can be a bit pricey (around HK$500 minimum consumption per head), although drinkers are free to walk around and take in the views with cocktail/beer-in-hand. Drinks are a little more sensibly priced here compared to other rooftop bars in Hong Kong, with recommended choices such as the ‘Grape Expectation’ (gin, lemongrass, basil, grape juice) coming in at HK$80.
Nanhai No.1 Restaurant
Most people visiting the 30th floor of iSquare are lured by Eyebar, which has become a relatively famous rooftop bar among Hong Kong’s business, tourist and expat crowds. However, the lofty space also boasts a second, far pricier venue in the form of Nanhai No.1 Restaurant. Recently awarded one Michelin Star, this lavish restaurant once again takes advantage of the Victoria Harbour views with floor-to-ceiling windows, and offers seating options catering for couples, small groups and large business events.
Nanhai No.1 specialises in modern Chinese cuisine, with the menu made up of classics like dim sum, wok-fried pork chop in soy sauce, King Prawns in bang sauce and light broths. The eight-course menu here is around HK$500, but expect to pay much more if you indulge in the long list of cocktails and wines from around the world. Nanhai No.1 also has a similar policy to Eyebar, in which you must spend at least HK$500 per heard to be bumped up to a table by the window.
Both Eyebar and Nanhai No.1 restaurant can be found by taking the elevator up to the 30th floor of the iSquare Mall building in Tsim Sha Tsiu in Kowloon, Hong Kong. If coming by public transport, the best way to get there is to take the MTR to East Tsim Sha Tsium Station and then walk one block north up Nathan Road.
